Copper Mining

We have not been in the copper mining for as long as we have with Diamonds and Gold. We have been in the copper mining for more than 15 years now, and our aim is to increase the production and In Uganda. We use a combination of open pit and underground mining techniques to reach copper-cobalt sulphide mineralisation.

Copper is a pinkish-orange metal that is used in a broad range of everyday household products. It’s an excellent conductor of electricity and is corrosion resistant and antimicrobial, meaning it can prevent the growth of bacteria.

Copper is a widely used metal with numerous applications in the electrical, plumbing, and construction industries. One of the fundamental properties of copper is its mass density, which is crucial in understanding how this metal behaves under different conditions and how it can be used in various applications.

The demand for Copper

It is expected that the use of copper is going to double in the next 30 years.
Today’s high rates of production may not be enough to meet near-future demands. A 2022 report from S&P Global concludes that global demand may increase from 25Mt today to about 50Mt by 2035, but the currently projected supply will only be enough to meet 80% of our needs. As nations fight climate change and race to reduce carbon emissions by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050, copper’s future role will be critical. Growing demand and supply imbalances are creating attractive opportunities for investors.

Why is copper a good investment?

Copper is prominent in electronics and computing devices due to its excellent conductivity and strong heat resistance. Additionally, copper pipes are common in plumbing systems. Scrap yards place a high value on copper because of its widespread use and sustainability.

As we move towards a lower-carbon future, copper is essential to creating the infrastructure needed for renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar. We also believe the demand for copper will continue to grow due to grade declines at existing copper mines, the radical urbanisation of large populations in China and India, and the ongoing electrification of energy and transportation.Copper planks

Copper is Recyclable
Almost all copper products can be recycled, making it one of the most recycled metals in the world.

Natural
Copper occurs naturally in humans, animals and plants, and is vital to maintaining good health.

Transportation
Electric vehicles use four times as much copper as petrol-based cars.
It is also used in fossil fuel cars, aircraft and trains.

A household necessity
The average western home contains 80 – 90kg of copper, as everyday household products like wiring, pipes, appliances, air conditioners, refrigerators, TVs and microwaves all contain copper.
The same does your smartphone, as it can contain up to 20g of copper.

Construction
Copper is commonly used across both residential and industrial construction.

Infrastructure
It is used throughout infrastructure, including power grids and traffic lights.
